The Final Flourish
The Final Flourish provides a proofreading service for all forms of writing.
Even the best writers can be blind to their own mistakes. Various sets of eyes can still sometimes miss grammar, spelling and punctuation errors. That’s why The Final Flourish is needed for the final filter, to carefully scrutinise the final draft and ensure the wording is professional and credible.
In all instances, whether it’s a large or small document or manuscript, presentation is important. Embarrassing mistakes are a sign of inept, careless or unprofessional writing. By submitting the final draft to The Final Flourish, both experienced and amateur writers can be confident of perfection in the important final stage before their document is presented or published.
Publishers don’t want to spend time correcting typos and grammatical errors in submitted manuscripts. Self-publishers don’t want their name and reputation to be marred by embarrassing mistakes.
Feel confident that your corporate reports and documents are perfectly presented, reflecting the professionalism of your organisation.
About The Final Flourish
The Final Flourish is owned and operated by Robyn Mitchell.
Robyn has always been fascinated by words. At school she excelled in English and French, the first indication of her passion for the meaning of words and how they relate to other words.
Love of the French language led to many years of French language classes in Australia and holidays in France spent in language school classrooms in Montpellier, Carcassonne and Sancerre.
When learning French there’s an expression ‘faux amis’ which translates to ‘false friends’. This relates to French words that look the same as English words but don’t have the same meaning. For example, the verb ‘attendre’ means to wait, not to attend; ‘la journée’ is the day, not the journey; ‘les bras’ means the arms, not the bras etc. It’s very easy to make a simple mistake in writing, whether through speed, stress, or just reading and rereading the same document. Artificial intelligence and software programs may appear to be your friends, but they can also allow mistakes to slip through. For instance, leaving out the word ‘not’ can change the meaning of a sentence dramatically. It can be a mistake to trust false friends. A professional human will give your work the final flourish it deserves.
Robyn has honed her skill working in legal offices and for many years in a major corporation where she was the final set of eyes for reports, newsletters, website content, media releases and inter-office communications.
Through The Final Flourish, Robyn has proofread documents and manuscripts for first-time and published authors, as well as writers who want a professional finish for a document for their personal use.

Recommendations
If you love to lose yourself in a good book, try these best-selling authors –
Euan Mitchell
Euan self-published his first book, Feral Tracks, in 1998 after being rejected by 25 literary agents and publishers. It became an independent bestseller, was short-listed for a readers’ choice award and optioned for a movie by an independent film company. He has since written numerous other books and e-books, and helped others to self-publish their manuscripts.
George Elliott
Race car champion, pilot, producer, actor – the list of accreditations for this best-selling author is very impressive. George draws on his experience and extensive research to take the reader on a fast-paced ride. The central character, the loveable Jimmy Devlin, is fearless but credible and his adventures continue to thrill, from one book to the next.
Lyn Yeowart
The Silent Listener, Lyn’s first book, was a runaway success, published in four countries – Australia, the United Kingdom, France and Russia. It’s dark, gripping and impossible to put down. Beautifully written in any language, this book is enthralling, with unexpected twists an added bonus. I can honestly say this is one of the best books I’ve ever read (and I’ve read a lot).
Alexandra Lapierre
As her name suggests, Alexandra Lapierre is a French author, but her books are also published in many languages, including English. She studied in America and currently lives in Paris with a long list of best-sellers to her credit. Her books focus on historical figures, in particular women who are strong, historically important and noted for overcoming the challenges of their times.
